DIY treatment for dry hands
For the past few months, we’ve all been washing our hands more often and with extra care. It’s one of many simple (but important!) steps we can take to help limit the spread of the coronavirus.
If you’ve found your hands have become extra dry from all the antibacterial cleansers and hand sanitizers you’ve been diligently using, we have a solution!
Restore your skin’s moisture barrier and relieve any irritation or cracking that you might be experiencing with this fun DIY treatment. Plus, it will give you the chance to enjoy an at home spa moment. We suggest putting on relaxing music, lighting a candle, and giving yourself the time to really indulge!
You will need:
- 1 tbsp of lemon or grapefruit juice
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- Half an avocado, mashed
- 3 to 5 tbsp rich yoghurt
- 1 tbsp liquid honey
Step 1 – Cleanse
It’s important to start with clean hands! Wash hands with a warm water and a gentle cleanser if possible.
Step 2 – Exfoliate
Mix your choice of lemon or grapefruit juice with granulated sugar and gently massage onto hands to exfoliate. The key here is to be gentle – this shouldn’t hurt, it should simply remove any dead skin. If your hands are particularly sore, feel free to skip this step.
Step 3 – Treat
Mix avocado, yoghurt, and honey together and soak hands in the mixture for 15 minutes.
