4 Resolutions You Can Commit To

4 Resolutions You Can Commit To

  • January 2, 2019

The first New Year’s resolution was reportedly made over 4,000 years ago. Which means for thousands of years human beings have been making resolutions, and most of the time these resolutions have been forgotten about come March. Why is it so difficult for us to follow through? It’s hard to be self-reflective and at times we set ourselves up for failure by personally asking too much. This year, challenge yourself to commit to a resolution you can actually stick with.

Here are a few easy ones that won’t be too tough to keep and will make you feel good to commit to.

Get out of your comfort zone.

If you do the same stuff all the time, you’ll grow tired of your day-to-day. Switch it up by learning new things, doing something different, putting yourself out there, and adjusting your daily routine. Start with small changes, like booking a dinner reservation somewhere new, getting a haircut, signing up for a group class you’ve never done before, buying a concert ticket for a band you’re not familiar with, or traveling to a foreign destination. Getting out of your comfort zone is the key to an exciting life.

Take time for yourself and for those you love.

Work can be demanding, and your schedule may be fully booked, but it is critical to carve out quality time throughout the year to see your loved ones and to deepen those connections. It’s also vital to make time to get away from the chaos and reconnect with yourself. Luckily for you, Nordik Spa-Nature has both group packages and solo experiences, so you can spend time with yourself or with the people you love.

Focus on your mental and physical health.

We know you’re aware of the importance of this already, but it can’t go without being said. The new year is a great time to better your health, both mentally and physically. Don’t stress too much about your diet or how often you go to the gym, instead make smaller changes that fit with your lifestyle. This could be as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or switching to whole-wheat pasta. When it comes to your mental health, do more things that make you happy and less things that don’t.

Relax.

You may think you don’t have the time or that you’re incapable of unwinding, but you have to relax to feel comfortable getting out of your comfort zone, in order to take time for yourself or to make time with others, and for your mental and physical health to improve. Relaxation and wellness go hand in hand. We’re all well aware of the effects stress, tension, and anxiety have on our bodies. It may be difficult to escape those feelings, but it’s not impossible.

If you don’t know where to begin your relaxation journey, we can help with that.
