By yourself, as a couple or with the family, here are our local favorites.
INDULGE TASTY MEALS
Happiness is in the meadow: that is the motto of the Chelsea Pub. A true institution at the heart of Chelsea, the Pub offers local craft brews and gourmet food. The go-to place of all outdoor enthusiasts or a perfect after-bike.
Sweets and flavors: two words that perfectly describe the oh! so-popular Biscotti. With its homemade products, exquisite desserts and divine coffees, a visit is a must!
From tartar, to local cheeses, to poutine and filet mignon, Meech & Munch combines history and cuisine. The result: a gourmet bistro in a rustic decor that never fails to please.
La Cigale is THE place to be for a late-night ice cream or sorbet. They serve 26 flavors of homemade sorbets or ice cream made with dairy or vegan products. Don’t be surprised by the queue, it’s definitely worth the wait!
Brunch at its very best! Avocado and smoked salmon toast, gourmet pancake or frayed BBQ vegan burger, this place has it all. Seriously.
Nestled on the edge of a secret wood, L’Orée du Bois remains one of the best restaurants in the region. Those who have never been dream of setting foot there, those who have already been dream of returning.
Vast gardens, wooded pathway, screened veranda and award-winning restaurant – that’s how to describe Les Fougères. A close collaboration between local gourmet food and local flavors.
A COMFY STAY-OVER
Equally charming, the village of Old Chelsea also offers several accommodation options. Lofts, studios, lodges or houses, it is certainly not the atmosphere, design and decoration that escape. Wait and see!
Perched in the heart of nature and offering a breathtaking view of the Gatineau Park hills, Nordik Lodges are located just steps away from the Nordik Nature-Spa itself. Designed to accommodate groups of 10 people, the lodges invites for relaxation and gratitude.
Spending the night in a loft or studio worthy of Pinterest? Yes please! Industrial, modern yet also vintage, the Village Lofts are not only in the heart of the bucolic village of Chelsea, they are located at the entrance of the Gatineau Park.
A pretty little house built over 100 years ago, La Maison bleue embodies getaway and rest. It can accommodate up to 6 people and due to its location, it is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts.
DISCOVER AND BE ACTIVE
Immersive experiences in the forest, moments of relaxation, plenitude or adrenaline: the region abounds of activities. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast or looking for a little rest, here are several ways to fill your days in beautiful Chelsea.
Hiking at the Wolf Trail
Hiking enthusiasts, the Wolf Trail is where you’ll want to be. This loop of nearly 8 km is located on a rather difficult path over rough and wooded terrain, but is oh so rewarding.
Explore the Carbide Willson ruins
An easy and short track that will appeal to the entire family. A 3 km trail on a recently renovated road where the ruins of an old power plant dating back to the 1900’s are hidden.

As the locals will tell you know, there is no better place to practice Stand Up Paddle than at Meech Lake. The sunsets are breathtaking, the water is calm and the view of the Gatineau Park is simply magical.
Swimming at the O’brien or Blanchet beach at Meech Lake
For those looking to cool off in the heat wave, Meech Lake also has two beaches. Although very popular, the Blanchet and O’Brien beaches are safe and have lifeguards on duty from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.
In the summer, Camp Fortune is transformed into a true paradise for mountain bikers. With trails ranging from beginner to expert, its summit ensures adrenaline and speed.
Cycling to the Champlain Lookout
The Champlain Lookout offers the best popular vantage point in Gatineau Park. At the summit is a rich and fragile ecosystem due to its location and geology. Although accessible by car, the Lookout is popular amongst cyclists who like to push their limits.
Ziplining at the Coulonge Waterfalls
Thrill seekers, this is for you! What awaits you: an obstacle course in the trees, giant zip lines over the Coulonge River and a Via Ferrata of over 600 meters. Nothing less!
Diving at the Carrière Morrison
A true open stone-pit, Carrière Morrison is popular amongst swimmers but especially amongst divers. At the bottom of its turquoise waters are several artifacts, including an airplane cabin, the wreckage of a tugboat and the body of an old car. Now that’s what we call freediving!
A true haven of peace, Nordik Spa-Nature is the largest spa in North America. With 10 outdoor baths, 9 saunas, a panoramic pool, a floating saltwater pool, an exfoliation room, massage pavilions, multiple relaxation areas and a few culinary offerings, this relaxation center promises to get your summer vacation off to a great start (or finish)!
