A Spa Day for Mom: Reconnect and Recharge

Being a mom is a wonderful adventure, but it’s also demanding. We give ourselves fully, without counting the cost, and we think about everything, all the time. Very often, we don’t even think about ourselves. And because we do it with love, we don’t see the time flying by. But often, it’s our bodies and minds that keep us grounded. And what they’re asking for is a simple break, a real one. A moment of calm, relaxation, and gentleness. Not because we want to escape, but because we need to recharge so we can keep going. This week, I treated myself to a getaway just for me: a day at the spa for mom, at Nordik Spa Village. And it was much more than just relaxation: it was a reset. A way to gently come back to me, peacefully and without pressure. Reconnection and relaxation surrounded by nature, warmth, and calm.

When Your Body and Mind Crave Calm

Lately, I’ve been feeling the need to slow down because everything seems to be moving a little too fast. So many thoughts running through my head, mental to-do lists, and less space to just feel. So I decided to take a break. An interlude in my daily routine where I can relax and simply come back to myself. A moment away from the world, which is exactly how you feel when you arrive at Nordik Spa Village.

Where Everything Invites You to Drop What You’ve Been Carrying for Too Long

From the moment I stepped onto the site, I felt like I was entering a peaceful little village, hidden away in the heart of nature. You really forget that you’re just a few minutes from the city. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, as if the place itself was whispering: “You can let go now.” Nothing was left to chance—everything seemed to be in its place, ready to meet needs we often forget to express. Here, we take our time. We breathe, we relax. We come back to ourselves.

A Tailor-Made Experience, Focused on You

I immediately appreciated the variety of facilities available. There was something for every need and every desire: comforting warmth, invigorating coolness, moments of rest.

I began my wellness getaway with a first thermal circuit. It began in the Tuli sauna, where you are lulled by soft natural light and the warmth of its fully glazed wood-burning stove. The heat helps to relax the muscles and release built-up tension. This was followed by a cool shower, allowing the cold to stimulate circulation and revitalize the body. I finished off by the fire for a precious moment of rest, where I took the time to read several chapters to the sound of the trees and the crackling of the burning wood.

I loved the freedom to create my own journey, at my own pace, according to how I felt at the time. No set schedule or itinerary. Just me, listening to my needs, gently reinventing a wellness ritual with each new spa experience.

Settling Down, Simply

As the day went on, I discovered so many rest areas. From the campfire, my favourite, to hammocks surrounded by nature where I could settle down and read for hours, lulled by the wind and the sound of the waterfalls. I also spotted a meditation room, a little haven of peace where you could centre yourself in calm and tranquility. Every corner seemed to offer a different way to rest, where everything called out to you to stop and slow down. Each rest area allowed me to recharge at my own pace and fully enjoy this well-deserved break.

The Taste of Now

The foodie in me was delighted from morning to evening: classic coffees and breakfasts, comforting dishes, refined meals, and a variety of cocktails. I didn’t try everything, but what I did taste was delicious. In the morning, I settled on the sunny terrace of the Mezz Café to enjoy a leisurely breakfast accompanied by a hot coffee, basking in the sunshine. Later, I enjoyed a martini, my favourite, comfortably seated in the panoramic bath—a moment of pure bliss. And what can I say about the meal at Le Resto restaurant? The pappardelle was simply perfect, and the bruschetta was an absolute delight. The food is good, the drinks are good, but above all, you take your time.

What I’m Taking Home With Me

As I left, after this break from the everyday, everything seemed clearer and calmer. My body felt rested, my mind lighter. It wasn’t just relaxation, it was a reset. A gentle way to find myself again, without having to escape anything—just recharging my batteries. For a mom, treating yourself to this kind of day can sometimes come with a hint of guilt … but this getaway reminded me that I also exist outside of “doing,” that I have the right to simply “be,” guilt-free.
